Mind Body Wellness & Resilience

Our philosophy

When it comes to yoga and meditation, we strongly believe that:

  • Yoga is for everybody AND for every body. You don’t have to be a young, ridiculously flexible yogi to practice yoga! In fact, if you are lacking flexibility or mobility it is the perfect time to start yoga! Everyone can benefit from practicing yoga, regardless of the condition of your flexibility, mobility, injuries, or surgeries; the key is to work within your comfort zone (i.e., NO pain) and range of motion to build strength and flexibility where you need it.
  • “Motion is lotion”. Injuries, mobility issues, and a sedentary lifestyle are a few things that can result in sticky, clumpy, and tight fascia that restricts ideal movement. Fascia is the connective tissues that run throughout our bodies that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs. Healthy fascia is supple and malleable; it is able to slide, glide, bend and twist without pain. To get that fascia back in shape I have found that yoga practices that target fascia, like yin yoga, as well as yoga practices that encourage movement, like hatha and chair yoga, are especially beneficial.
